CREATE will offer innovative methods for enhancing the durability of coastal transportation infrastructure, drawing on natural and nature-based features, advanced materials, and numerical modeling. While recent years have seen meaningful advances in each of these areas, most approaches have not been rigorously evaluated for long-term durability, leaving a critical gap between research and practice. This thrust aims to close that gap with actionable design and construction recommendations.
