Automated assessment of transportation infrastructure conditions has gained popularity over the decades. Different vision- and optical-based sensor systems are used for pavement surface distress surveys for road safety and maintenance planning. More automated track geometry and safety inspection tools are used in railroads to check their condition and safety. Sonar and underwater 3D/2D imaging technology are finding more applications for bridge, dam, and underwater pipeline inspections.This webinar will focus on automated survey technologies used in pavement inspection. It will also introduce some widely used railroad and underwater survey technologies with examples.
