Data-Driven Assessment of Rigid Pavement Vulnerability in Texas Coastal Regions

Texas's concrete pavements in the Beaumont and Houston coastal districts face a combination of extreme weather, variable soils, and heavy traffic that accelerates deterioration. This project draws on data from weather databases, soil surveys, traffic monitoring systems, and pavement condition records to identify what factors most drive distress in these pavements. The findings will feed into predictive models and geospatial tools that help TxDOT pinpoint high-risk segments and make more targeted, cost-effective maintenance and design decisions.
